Guardiola Keen On Real Madrid"s Midfielder After Toure Hints Exit

Manchester City manager-to-be Pep Guardiola wants Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos as his marquee signing this summer, according to The Daily Star.

The Catalan trainer will replace Manuel Pellegrini at the Etihad Stadium and be handed a sizeable summer warchest to revamp the club’s playing squad before 2016-17.

One of the players seemingly heading towards the exit door is Yaya Toure, with a new high-profile central midfielder expected to be signed in his place.

Kroos started the Champions League final for Madrid last night in Milan and has been a critical player for the Spaniards alongside Luka Modric in his debut campaign in La Liga.

Guardiola is set to make an ambitious move for the Germany international and potentially look to build a new team around the former Bayern Munich pass-master.

A significant bid would be needed to convince Madrid to part company with the midfielder this summer given his importance to Zinedine Zidane’s side.
