Chief Executive Officer of Aduana Stars, Albert Ayeetey Commey has accused traditional rulers of selling all grounds which could serve us recreation, especially, sports.
The Ghana Football Association has been criticized for not using monies realised from world football governing, FIFA to constructs pitches for football development.
But the Ghana FA Executive Committee member believes the lack of training pitches in the country is due to the selfish interest of traditional rulers.
“Our chiefs, they sell and even sell market places. They will sell all the places for recreational activities,” Commey told Starr FM.
He added: “When you go to South Africa, go there and see vast lands reserved for sporting activities.”
The lack of lands for the construction of pitches has forced premier league clubs to seek for grounds outside their vicinity.
