Head coach of Medeama SC, Tom Strand says striker Bernard Ofori must work hard to become to complete a gaol poacher.
The former New Edubiase striker came from the bench to score against Ashanti in FA Super Cup on Sunday at the Accra sports stadium, but the Swede says he was only lucky to have scored.
“That guy (Bernard Ofori) needs a lot of work. He doesn’t know how to run. He was lucky he scored He was at the right side at the right spot but he is good inside the box but he doesn’t know how to run.”
The quality of game displayed by both set of teams was below par and Tom Strand says the teams can do better than they did.
He also praised his team for winning despite not playing good football and he described that as mark of champions.
“Both of us are disappointed about the quality of the game because I believe the two teams can play much better football than we did. We will work and give fans better football and hopefully, we will see people in the stands in the future,” he said, adding that ‘Our performance against Ashanti Gold is an indication that we need to play more matches. Even if we don’t play at our best and we win, that’s a very good sign for a champion team.
“Winning without playing good football on certain days is a good and very important factor, and I am very happy we won the trophy. “
