Daniel Amartey Enjoying Life at Leicester City

Leicester City’s Ghanaian defender, Daniel Amartey says he has been welcomed by the Club’s players with open arms as he continues his return to full fitness.

Amartey joined the Foxes from FC Copenhagen last month and has notched up 90 minutes for the Development Squad on two occasions having not played since the start of the December due to Denmark’s winter break.

The togetherness in the dressing room has been something that every member of the squad has praised this campaign and that has been particularly helpful for the 21-year-old, not least given the fact he is an international team-mate of Academy graduate Jeffrey Schlupp.

Speaking after helping the Club’s Under-21s beat Manchester City, Amartey told Foxes Player HD: “I feel good. I feel better but I have to keep working on my fitness now. I am enjoying it, I am happy to be here, the people are nice.

“My team-mates were all nice when I came here, everybody has been good to me. I am very happy to be here.”

The Blue Army have earned rave reviews from both Claudio Ranieri and the playing staff this season, and Amartey is keen to show them what he can do.

That opportunity could potentially come as soon as Saturday, with right back Danny Simpson suspended for the Barclays Premier League clash with Norwich City at King Power Stadium.

Amartey added: “I am just here to do my best and make the fans happy.”
