Vice President of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Isaac Koomson, has called on the stakeholders of Ghana footballers to make football easily accessible to the average fan.
The ace football administrator highlighted the successful nature of the just ended GHALCA First Trust Invitational G6 tournament as a testament of how the football fans can be enticed back to the local league.
Mr Koomson further commended the positive role of the Ghanaian media in the massive publicity of the off season tourney and tasked them to translate that into the 2016 domestic football calendar.
The GHALCA vice president rubbished claims made in a section of the media concerning the declining state of Ghana football championed by the hugely entertaining off season tourney.
He pleaded with club owners and administrators to form a very strong relationship with the media so as to coexist in the football fraternity.
“Many people had access to watch the First Trust G6 tournament because it was covered by a number of TV and radio stations. This generated a lot of excitement across the country and the feedback was very good.
This means that we should try and send football to the doorsteps of the consumers s”, Mr. Koomson told sports crusader.
The GHALCA Veep added, “The notion that our standard have gone down cannot be correct given the proper facilities, good pitches, environment and medical attentions these players deserve. Our clubs should form a very strong relationship with the media without any form of discrimination based on their audience. This good relationship with the media can help project the image of the league”.
