Kotoko Contemplating On Joining Rwandan League - Maradona

Kumasi Asante Kotoko is contemplating of travelling to Kigali to play if the delay of the Ghana Premier league continues.

The new Ghana Premier league season has delayed due to legal battles between the Techiman City and Wa African United.

The FA announced February 20 as the date for the commencement of the league, but a ruling from the Ethics Committee last week demoted one of the premier league clubs — Techiman City to the Division Two, threatening the start of the league.

And frustrated Kotoko says they will look for alternative options to play football if the delay continues.

“We are increasingly getting frustrated about the way things are going regarding the start of the league,” Deputy Operations Manager, Ali Maradona told Hot FM.

“The FA set a date for the season, the Premier League Board (PLB) released the full fixtures on Monday the Ethics Committee released a counter statement demoting a club that will is part of the league.

“Demoting Techiman City to Division has put the start of the season in limbo so as it stands I can’t say for sure that we are indeed going to start on the said February 20th date but let’s hope for the best.

“Such things affect we the clubs because we have planned  and any alteration of the date will have a negative impact on our team and the concentration of the players as well,” he said.

“I think we have to go and play in Kigali should the league fail to start on the scheduled date.

Ali Maradona also called on GFA president Nyantakyi to trash out issues and dissolve the various committees mandated to attend to cases before the FA.

“Personally, I think Kwesi Nyantakyi must dissolve all the various committees because most people are losing faith in their work,” Ali Maradona noted.
