Okyeman Planners Officially launched

Division One League (DOL) campaigners, Okyeman Planners FC said they are ready for the start of the GN Bank national second tier league after their official launching as a participant in the competition.

The club aims to survive the competition this first year at this level after they gained qualification to the second tier league at the end of last season when they won the Eastern Regional Middle League.

Ahead of the start of the DOL competition this weekend, the club officially announced their readiness for the league with a grand ceremony at Akyem New Tafo in the Eastern region.

Management member of the club, Larry Addo Vanderpuje said they are ready for the start of the competition and will be out to make the most out of their underdog status this season.

“Our main objective this season is to retain our membership of the league to fall in line with our three-year strategic plan, which hopefully will end with promotion to the elite division at the end of the period.

“We will not play second fiddle to any team or be pushovers in the competition and I expect to see us doing well by holding our own against all other opposition.” He told Sportscrusader.com.

He said, the team is ready for the start of the competition after undergoing what he termed “the best of pre-season preparations under the Scotish trainer Edward Carraghar”.

Okyeman Planners will open their campaign away to former premier division side Amidaus Professionals at the Tema Sports Stadium on Saturday.
