Ghanaian defender Edwin Osei Bonsu cost his side valuable points away to Mochuti Center Chiefs in the Botswana Bemobile Premier League on Friday night.
The former Accra Hearts of Oak centre back conceded a late penalty to the expensively assembled chiefs in a thrilling 2-0 defeat on the road.
The mid table side recalled Edwin to their ranks after initially cutting their ties with the robust centre back at the start of the season.
Gaborone played as guest to the division’s most expensive side but stood their grounds before finally giving up on the latter stages of the night.
Bonsu conceded an 88th minute spot kick for a reckless tackle inside the penalty box with was converted to doubl their slender 1-0 lead.
Gaborone United maintained their seventh place on the Bemobile standing but could slip further down the log depending on results of the remaining fixtures.
Bonsu was fired alongside Bismark Appiah at the start only to be recalled few weeks into his exiled tenure by the Botwana top flight side.
