Former Black Starlets trainer, Fred Osam Duodu has backed Paa Kwesi Fabin to lead the national U-17 team to glory in the upcoming CAF Youth Championship qualifiers.
Fred Osam Duodu supervised Ghana’s silver medal success at the Gambia 2005 Africa Under-17 Championship and he has backed the FA’s decision to maintain Paa Kwesi Fabin as the Head Coach of the national under-17 team.
The former world youth champions failed to qualify to the world cup from Africa Under-17 Championship in 2013 which included a 6-0 drubbing by West Africa neighbours, Nigeria.
The former Hearts boss also the 2015 team that was banned from participating in the 2015 Africa U-17 Championship for fielding an unqualified player. The FA still kept faith in him to manage the junior national teams he has selected forty youngsters across the country to build a team for the next generation.
And Fred Osam Duodu backed him to finally repay the FA the confidence reposed on him.
“He is one of the coaches that can do well. If you remove him, who is going to take over. He was doing well, especially with the one that they were disqualified.,” Duodu told Accra based Starr FM.
“In fact, I was visiting them at the camp and the standard was first class. If you go and see something and you tell him, he will take it. If they didn’t have any confidence in him, they would not allow him to continue.” He noted.
