Sports Minister-Designate To Meet Vetting Committee Today.

Ghana’s Parliamentary vetting committee will today vet Minister of Youth and Sports designate Hon Nii Lante Vanderpuije who was nominated by President Mahama to head the ministry in last month’s ministerial reshuffle.

Nii Lante Vanderpuije was nominated for the Sports Ministry to replace Dr. Mustapha Ahmed and he  will appear before the Ebo Barton-Odro chaired committee to answer questions from the panel before he could be officially sworn in as sports minister.

Nii Lante, a former deputy minister at the Local Government will become the 8th sports minister under the NDC era after series of reshuffles at the sector.

Lante Vanderpuije, a former GBC sports broadcaster and the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio Constituency, is the 14th politician appointed to head the Sports Ministry in the last 15 years.

And the consistency with which the sports ministers are reshuffled has lead to the media labeling it a ‘lions den.’

However, Nii Lantey Vanderpuje last week stated he is certain he will not follow suit his predecessors.
