The growth of Rugby in Ghana has prompted the integration of various west African state to a coordinated club tournament that can growth of the sport in Sub Saharan Africa.
The President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union , Mr Herbert Mensah told the media at the Rugby finals that “am in the process of negotiating with Presidents of Togo, Nigeria and Ivory coast Rugby so that we start the super league from next season”.
“The growth of the sports on the local terrain especially in south west and the eastern is showing how the interest of the sport of rugby is vast spreading”,he added.
Mr. Mensah also emphasized how the club super league tournament will be scheduled alongside the domestic league where three champions from West Africa will be part of the domestic league thus a combination of all other teams.
The Ghana Rugby club championship is expected to start in the month of October after the national team have participated in the seven series in Lome, Togo
