Head coach of newly promoted Ghana premier league side, Dreams FC has revealed the target for the Dawu based club is to retain their premier league status.
Dreams FC qualified to the top flight of Ghana football for the first time since the club’s establishment in 2009 after finishing ahead in their zone during the 2014/15 GN Bank division one league.
Coach Akunnor who qualified the team from 2nd division to 1st division and now to the premier league spoke to sportscrusader.com after the official draw for the MTN FA Cup last night.
He said, “it is important we get the necessary points now and that will secure our safety for premier league football next season whilst we work and improve game after game. ”
“in the second half of the season it is always difficult as teams would have found strategies to nullify a teams tactics and that might spell doom. We have set for ourselves hopefully 40-points target though it will be difficult we believe the quality available to us (Dreams FC) and work with a common understanding we will get there,” he added.
Dreams FC play at their favourite Dawu stadium when Bechem United visit in match week 2 of the 2015/16 Ghana premier League season.
