All things been equal, the Ghana Premier League will start in four days but the fate of Techiman City — one of the sixteen premier league clubs is yet to be decided.
The Ghana FA Ethics Committee found the club guilty of alleged match-fixing with Wa Africa United to influence the their Division One match week 22 fixture at the Damongo Park.
They ruled that Techiman City should be demoted to Division two, reducing the number of premier league clubs to fifteen. The FA however, released a statement that decision reached by the Ethics Committee has not affected their plans scheduled for the upcoming season.
Techiman City has appealed and filed a stay of execution but the adjudicating body of the FA is yet to respond to their request with only four days to the start of the season.
The delay has raised eyebrows over whether the league will start with sixteen teams or fifteen.
Will the premier league board, the body empowered to organize league football in the country overlook the decision reached by the Ethics Committee and play a sixteen team league?
