Jackson Owusu Undergoes Successful Surgery

Injured Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jackson Owusu on Monday successfully underwent “a plating and screwing” surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

The former Berekum Chelsea man suffered a broken tibia and fibula early Sunday morning while playing in a “Sunday Special” match.

He was quickly rushed to the hospital and the surgery was done on Monday on his left foot which was cast in Plaster of Paris (POP).

Speaking to the club’s official website, Asantekotokossc.com, Team Physiotherapist, who was one of the first people to see Jackson Owusu shortly after the surgery, disclosed that, plating and screwing surgery was performed on him.

“The tibia was compounded. For the fibula, it was a simple fracture. What he underwent is called plating and screwing. It’s to hold the two fragmented segments [broken bones]” the Physiotherapist said.

A rehabilitation process, expected to be in three phases has now started.
