Lower Your Expectations - Appiah Tells Hearts

Stephen Appiah, former skipper of the Black Stars of Ghana, has called on Accra Hearts of Oak to lower their expectations for the Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians defeated New Edubiase 1-0 at the Accra sports stadium on Sunday in their opening premier league fixture and fans are already over the moon.

The win has made head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi a hero in the last few days, but Stephen Appiah has called on the fraternity of the 2000 CAF Champions League winners to lower their dreams.

“We have played just a game and the fans are singing praise on coach Kenichi but one thing we should know is that we have a long way to go,” Appiah told Joy FM.

“They have lots of matches to play and perform as well but i have been hearing good things about the coach especially with his work ethics so i pray this year will be Heart of Oak’s year.”

“But i think in all these we should measure our expectations- in as much as we are all hoping for the best we shouldn’t do things that will put pressure on the coach.” He noted.

Hearts will travel to Tarkwa to play Medeama this weekend on matchday two of the Ghana Premier League at the Tarkwa T and A park.
