GPL Review: All Stars, Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC, Maintain Clean Sheets

 


Elsewhere, there were first wins for New Edubiase United, Berekum Chelsea, Sekondi Hasaacas and Liberty Professionals on a weekend that recorded 15 goals in the seven matches that were played.


All Stars produced a marked display to beat Aduana Stars 1-0 away at Dormaa to add to their opening day success over Hasaacas. Kofi Yeboah’s goal handed them all three points as the sit on top of the ladder on goal difference.


Prosper Donkor Tips Dreams FC For Victory Against Bechem United


Second half goals by Cosmos Dauda and Eric Kumi handed Hearts of Oak a first ever win over Medeama SC at Tarkwa as the Phobians won the game 2-0. The win ensured that they moved to six points from two games to keep pace with All Stars.


Dreams FC beat Bechem United 1-0 at Dawu with Benjamin Quansah the match winner for the debutants. They had earlier beaten Ebusua Dwarfs 1-0 in Cape Coast in their opening game of the season.


New Edubiase United bounced back from their opening day defeat to Hearts of Oak with a 1-0 victory over Dwarfs at Obuasi to record their first points of the season.


Wa-All-Stars-won


Former Ghana youth international Saddick Adams scored the only goal of the game as Berekum Chelsea accounted for WAFA 1-0 at the Golden City Park, Berekum after their lost their first game by the same margin to Techiman City.


Sekondi Hasaacas after their loose to All Stars on the opening weekend beat Techiman City 4-2 at the Sekondi Stadium at Essipong. Liberty Professionals scored a hard fought 2-1 victory over Inter Allies at their Dansoman base.


The game between Asante Kotoko and defending champions AshantiGold SC was postponed as a result of the Miners involvement in the CAF Champions League competition which saw  its postponement.
