Adnan Januzaj has been axed by manager Louis van Gaal temporarily after some inappropriate behaviour in an U21 game for Manchester United.
The Dutchman has a “no tolerance attitude” towards players who do not maintain decorum on the pitch, which has led to first team chances hard to come by for the Belgian.
Reports from the camp of Manchester United indicate that the management had complained to Van Gaal that Januzaj and Andreas Pereira had indulged in showboating near the corner flag, with both players trying to score from the set-piece despite viable options being available in the penalty box.
Januzaj, who went on a season-long loan to Borussia Dortmund, was brought back to Old Trafford in January after he failed to make a single start in the league for Thomas Tuchel’s men.
Since coming back he has been in the fringes yet again and his only appearance over the last month was a 80th minute substitute appearance against Arsenal which the Red Devils won.
The 21-year-old will be hoping to get back into the team and display the form which got him a regular place under David Moyes. The Red Devils are currently sixth in the table, four points adrift of fourth placed Manchester City, but a win against Everton on 3 April could take them above West Ham United to fifth spot and within a point of City.
