Give Me Time To Turn Around Bechem United - Manuel Zacarias

Newly appointed coach of Ghana Premier League (GPL) side, Bechem United, Manuel Zacarias has pleaded for more time in a bid to turn around the fortunes of the club.

United have made an indifferent start to the GPL season, as they lie 11th on the log with 10 points from the available 27 in the 16-club competition.

In an effort to turn their season around, the management of the club has appointed the Portuguese to take over from Kwame Opuni as head of the technical team, to save their season.

And this, the former FC Porto scout has accepted but is calling for patience from the top hierarchy at the club as well as from fans and sympathizers of the Brong Ahafo club.

“I will need time to get to know the players and fashion out a system that would suit the conditions in Ghana, and, most importantly, keep the team in the top-flight of the Ghanaian game,” he said.

The management of the club have confirmed that he will be on a three month probation before deciding whether to offer him a long term deal or not.

But, the has accepted this challenge and believes he has what it takes to keep Bechem United in the GPL if only he would be given enough time to work.

“I am determined to prove myself here in Ghana,” he said, adding that with the collaborative effort of the players, Bechem United will a success story this season.

On Sunday, they will host the West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in their next GPL game and will hope to win this one after losing their last game.
