GOIL Signs One Year Sponsorship Deal With Hearts and Kotoko

Ghana Oil Company (GOIL), an indigenous state-owned company has signed a one year sponsorship deal with Ghana’s two most successful clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko.


The agreement which was signed at the headquarters of GOIL in Accra, is worth a total package of Ghc960,000 with each receiving half of the amount which will be paid in monthly installments of Forty thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc40,000) and will include monthly fuel allocation as well.

The deal has started clearly the cash payment from GOIL is solely to be utilized for player welfare, specifically cash allowance for registered players.


Managing Director of GOIL, Patrick A.K. Akorli who signed the deal on behalf of the company said, “we are excited as an indigenous company to associate with Ghana’s two most successful clubs and with the huge fan base they both enjoy in the country it is just right to partner with them.”

“Both Hearts and Kotoko share the same value and belief as GOIL and we deemed it fit to start with these two traditional clubs and the success story will lead us to consider similar deals with the remaining football clubs,” he added.


In the upcoming Ghana Premier League Super Clash between the two clubs at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, May 2, fans of both teams will see the logo of GOIL emblazoned at the back of their teams  jerseys.
