A net score of 81 handed Richard Agyei the seniors title in the Carlo King Caddies Golf Championship held last Monday at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema.
Agyei shot 44 on the front nine, followed by a 37 on the back nine to win the top prize of GH¢500 and a television set for the tournament reserved for golf caddies who work at the Celebrity Golf Course.
The other prizes in the seniors category of the tournament sponsored by the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate for the Tema West Constituency, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, went to Nicholas Appiah (83 net) and Emmanuel Owusu (84 net), who also received television sets and respective cash prizes of GH¢400 and GH¢300.
The ladies category, which featured only three ladies, was won by Bernice Esi Dzitorkonu, who returned a net score of 89 to win the television set at stake.
Emmanuel Nyarko, 26, clinched the juniors title with a net score of 83, and was trailed by Gabriel Adams (84 net) and Christian Da-Silva (86 net).
All three winners in the juniors category received cash prizes, as well as television sets for their valiant efforts.
In an address after the event, Mr Ahenkorah said the tournament was in fulfilment of a pledge he made to caddies at last year’s Carlo King Golf Open.
