Wa All Stars centre back Ismail Ganiu has pleaded with his colleagues to eschew complacency, after their heavy away win over Accra Hearts of Oak.
The versatile defender rallied his colleagues to sustain their momentum if they are to achieve their collective aim at the end of the season.
The former Wa Anokye Stars defender, made an injury return for Wa All Stars in a 1-3 vital win over Accra Hearts of Oak
Ganiu revealed his personal excitement to have made a winning return to the side after missing the last two league matches for his side.
The ambidextrous defender however pleaded with his team mates not to over jubilate the Phobians scalp or gets swollen headed, after going atop in the league standing.
He told sports crusader, “It is always good to get three points especially away from home. We are enjoying our football at the moment but it will be disastrous for us, if we think we have reached the limit.
“I will like us to put this victory aside just like any other three points earned and keep the momentum going forward. If we allow the results to get the greater parts of our mind, we may regret later on in the season”.
The vice captain then lowered down expectation from the supporters of the Wa based side despite surging top of the standing and yet to lose in the opening six fixtures of the season.
“Our main target is to win our next game and the game after it. We want to take each game as at when it comes with no minds set on the ultimate trophy. If at the latter stages of the season we are still in contention for the ultimate trophy, we will then gear our energies toward it.
One game at a time for now and let’s see what Allah has for us at the end of the campaign”, Ganiu told Sports crusader.
Wa All Stars spanked Accra Hearts of Oak 1-3 to extend their unbeaten run to the season thanks to strikes from their attacking trio- Emmanuel Ocran, Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe and Richard Arthur.
Enos kwame Adepa’s charges replaced their host at the top of the standing with after six rounds of league matches.
