Kotoko Settle On Serbian Side, Klub Jagodina To Commemorate Club Anniversary

Kotoko Replace FC Veria With Serbian Club For January Anniversary Match


Kumasi Asante Kotoko have finally bent over and replaced Greek club FC Veria for the much touted 80th anniversary clash on 3rd January, 2016.


 


Kotoko / FC Veria match has been called on and off on countless occasions but the Ghana premier league champions have always denied the game has been cancelled.  The organisers and porcupine warriors hierarchy have finally settled on another club to celebrate the clubs anniversary after last minute hiccup with Greek side, FC Veria.

Chief executive officer of Pacific Football ghana limited, eric oppong yeboah, has confirmed, “we have suffered some setbacks in trying to get ths match played and the last one had to do with changing the opponent because of a last minute hitch. We contacted our agents in Serbia and we had Jagodina ready to come down”.

The Serbian club was formed in the year 1919 and play in the top division of Serbian football, Superliga.


 







FC Veria were the second club to turn down the invitation after Romanian side, Petrolul FC turned down the offer of facing Kotoko.
