Error: Louis van Gaal"s Biggest Mistake Was Selling Javier Hernandez

Louis Van Erred In Selling Manchester United Star – Ferdinand

Manchester United legend and stalwart defender, Rio Ferdinand believes Louis Van Gaal got it wrong with the decision to sell striker Chicharito.

The Mexican was deemed surplus to requirement under the dutch manager after spending the 2014/15 season on loan at Real Madrid. Ferdinand questioned why with just three games Van Gaal decided he has seen enough and thumb up his sale to FC Bayer Leverkusen for 6 million pounds.

The 27-year-old has scored 19 goals in 22 games since arriving in Germany while United have struggled for goals, finding the net just 22 times in 19 Premier League games so far this season.

Ferdinand told the Sun: “Van Gaal seems to struggle to get the best out of forwards with his strict and rigid tactics.

“I loved Chicharito when I played with him. “He guaranteed you goals, even when he was rotated between being a starter and a substitute. But Van Gaal didn’t seem to know how to get the best out of him or wasn’t prepared to adapt to the little man’s way of playing.”

The former England international believes Hernandez is not the only one who found it difficult, with Robin van Persie, Angel Di Maria and Adnan Januzaj all failing to make the grade.
