"We Must Start 2016 On A Winning Note"-Asante Kotoko"s Ahmed Adams

Asante Kotoko’s Ahmed Adams believes that beating Serbian side FK Jagodina in the 80th-Anniversary match on Sunday is a good way to start the new year.

After two previous disappointments, the ‘Porcupine Warriors’ will now play a Serbian top-flight side, FK Jagodina, instead of Veria FC of Greece, at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

It will be the first official match of the year 2016 for Kotoko and Ahmed Adams insists that Kotoko needs to win the match to give the fans some hope ahead of the commencement of the new season.

“We must start 2016 on a winning note, and I believe that the match on Sunday is the best platform for us to prove how serious we are, ahead of the new season”, Ahmed Adams told footballcrusader.com.

“For me, I think we have ended the year well pickink two offseason trophies so far and Sunday presents us another opportunity to do same, more especially since its our anniversary match.”

The match will be Kotoko’s third international friendly after English side Stoke City in the 1950s and German side, Bayern Leverkusen, in 1981.
