Impressive Nana Poku sends El Maqassah top of log in Egypt

Egypt based Ghanaian striker Nana Poku continued his impressive form in the Egyptian top flight to send his club top of the league.

The Misr El Maqassa forward inspired the championship hopefuls to a thrilling 1-1 game to Al Itihaad on Monday evening.

The 24 year old Ghanaian sits second in the top scoring chart with five goals to his name after an impressive start to the season.

The prolific forward failed to add to his goal tally but fought gallantly in a hard earned point at home to Al Itihaad.

The ex Berekum Arsenal attacker headed into the fixture looking to surge top of the Golden race but luck eluded him at his own backyard.

A 79th minute opener from Housan Saeed threatened a home defeat for the title hopefuls before Nadji leveled the scores six minutes into additional time.

El Maqassa now occupies the top of the Egyptian log with 22 points from the opening eleven fixtures. Darklyeh can however unseat the table toppers with a win in their outstanding match later on Tuesday. Nana Poku has developed himself into one of the most revered strikers in the league since arrival.
