Ghana To Participate In World Swimming Olympic Qualifier

The national swimming team of Ghana are scheduled to participate at the World Olympic Swimming qualifier in Romania slated for 25 of May 2016.


The team which consists of Four boys and one girl namely Abeiku Jackson, Paa Kwesi Jackson, Kweku Addo, Zanobia Addo and Ophelia Swin are in camp preparing vigorously ahead of the scheduled Olympic qualifiers.


In an interview with Sportscrusader.com, the President of the Ghana Swimming Association Theophilus Edzie said, “the athletes are in camp preparing for the tournament, the only problem we have has to do with financing, we need approximately 20,000 dollars to facilitate the trip to Romania and we are contacting the appropriate authorities to enable us raise the amount”.


“We have tried our best in acquiring three tickets for the athletes and we are edging for support irrespective of its source,” he pleaded.


 


The President also emphasized that regardless of what happens at the tournament Ghana will be sending representatives to Rio come August.
