Kamal Issah reveals struggles in holding down regular spot at Stabaek

Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Issah has revealed he was made to work extra hard for keep his position at Stabaek.


The 23-year-old emerged as one of the consistent performers at Stabaek despite only joining the side at the start of the season.


Issa, a former Ghana U20 midfielder featured in 26 games to help Stabaek finish 3rd in the Norwegian top flight.


The ex Nordsjaelland man however reveals he had to struggle to beat off competition for a starting place at the club.


“The challenge started right after the pre-season till the middle of the season,” he said.


“Everybody was fighting for a position and there were three top, top midfielders who were all playing at my position.


“I have to work hard in order to cement my position permanently.


“I have to intensify my work rate on and off the field to make sure that I completely consolidate a starting spot in our coach line ups.


“So, this was my real and biggest challenge that I had to deal with in my debut season with Stabaek FC.”
