Liberty Eye GPL Crown

Assistant coach for Liberty Professionals, Felix Aboagye is optimistic his side will be champions of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) at the end of the season.

The Scientific Soccer lads earned their first away win of the season with a vintage performance aagainst Hasaacas, courtesy a Bernard Arthur late minute effort on Sunday at the Essipong Sports Stadium.

Liberty Professionals, despite making their Premier League debut in 1999 have never got closer to winning the top-flight league.

However, Felix Aboagye is optimistic the Dansoman based side would rewrite history and have their name on the list of winners for the GPL this season, following their 1-0 victory over Hasaacas.

“Any time we visit Hasaacas we don’t get good results, but this time around, we controlled the game and had the victory,” he said after the game.

“I am promising everyone that we would be league champions this season. Sometimes we decide not to play in the top four or something like that, but this season we will win the league,” Felix Aboagye said in a post-match interview.
