The Black Queens of Ghana have received their outstanding bonuses of $6,000 owed to them by the Ministry of Youth and Sports with regards to their Olympic Game qualifier against Zimbabwe.
Each member of the team received a cheque of $6,000 after their 4-0 thumping over Tunisia on Tuesday in the Africa Women’s Championship qualifier on Tuesday.
The team which will be participating in this year’s African Women Cup of Nations (AWCN) finally got some relief after receiving their outstanding debt which they were really excited about.
“Certainly, this is a pleasant surprise and we’re happy about it. But our joy will be complete when the rest of the bonuses, including our double victory over Tunisia, are paid,” captain Mercy Myles said after defeating Tunisia..
The Minister of Youth and Sports Honorable Nii Lantey Vanderpuje has also promised that all outstanding bonuses will be cleared before they embark for the AWCN in November.
The Honorable Minister also promise to deliver the AWCN for Ghana for the first time in the history of the country.
