Duke Micah Makes Boxing Debut in UK This Saturday

Ghanaian bantamweight prospect Duke Micah will make his long-awaited debut in the United Kingdom (U.K.) on Saturday, April 16 against Spaniard Raynaldo Cajina (14-31-5, 10 KO’s) at the Chiwell Olympia Sports Center in Nothinghamshire.

Micah (14-0, 14 K0’s), currently the reigning WBO African bantamweight champion, had two fights called off in successive months after his opponents (Mikheil Soloninkini and Giorgi Gachechiladze, respectively, failed their respective proposed medicals.

Micah’s trainer, Carl Lokko told Bukomboxingnews.com from their base in the U.K., “this Saturday, Duke Micah will be having his debut fight in U.K,”  “He is in good shape and ever ready for the bout. Training for the past months has been very good. Duke is a disciplined boxer who takes his training very serious and he very talented. The weekend card will be a big opportunity for him to showcase his talent to the world.”

“It was difficult getting a bantamweight opponent for Duke so since Cajina who is a super featherweight who was available we agreed to fight him at catch-weight. There wouldn’t be any problem for Duke fighting catch-weight, I believe in his quality and definitely he will come out as the winner,” he added.

Micah’s last fought in December at the Accra Sports Stadium, stopping Ekow Wilson in round eight to win the vacant WBO bantamweight title.
