GHALCA Has Changed - Koomson Warn Returnees

Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) chairmanship aspirant, Isaac Koomson has sent a warning to returnees to the body that the Association has changed.

A three-member committee chaired by Major Yaw Larson (rtd) certified all four candidates who filed their nomination to contest the chairmanship position in their upcoming elections.

It means that Kudjoe Fianoo, who served as Administrative Manager of Association during its vibrant years, will be in contention for a return. But Isaac Koomson has warned that the success chalked in previous years is not a guarantee that he will succeed.

“I am currently the vice chairman; I know the position of the Association, I know what the lapses are and I also know the strength of the Association. So if you were the Chairman or Administrative Manager for about 10 or 15 years ago, GHALCA is not the Association you left. Things have changed,” the Aduana Stars Accra representative said in an interview with sportscrusader.com.

Isaac Koomson is adamant that the experience acquired by predecessors is negligible.

“There have been so many people who have ran an institution perfectly during their exuberant or youthful years and when they go far away and come back they fall flat. I can recount in football, I can recount in coaching and I can recount in football administration.

“I have seen players play flamboyantly well but after they’ve gone and returned to team thinking that they will achieve earlier success and they end up falling flat. Same can be said about coaches.

“So someone being here before and thinking that a return will be a success should not be on the cards; I can bet that the place has changed,” he warned.
