Dutch born Ghanaian forward Jonathan Opoku, powered his club side to within touching distance of Eredivese football, with a 1-3 vital away win at MVV.
The VV Venlo prolific forward, extended his deadly form for the second tier side with a virtuoso performance to put his side seven points adrift of the league leading Sparta.
Venlo closed the gap at the top with three wins in their last four matches, after as the leaders continue to stumble in the home stretch.
Jonathan Opoku failed to add to his impressive 12 goals and six match scoring run but played crucial roles in all three goals scored by the high flying Venlo.
Club’s leading scorer Ralf Seundjen, took his season’s tally to 26 with a brace to his name to add to Vito Van Croy’s lonely strike.
Opoku and Venlo, could seal their ticket to the 2016/17 Eredivese league as early as next week, if Eindoven fails to win with three rounds of matches to play for.
The second place Venlo side ends their season with two successive home ties against Sittard and Emmen before rounding off the season on April 29, 2016 with a possibly coronation match away to Archiles 29.
