Ghanaian forward Abdul Majeed Waris has lavished kind words on his former team mate Stephanie Mbia after the latter switched camp to China.
The pair played together for Trabzonspor in Turkey before heading their respective ways at the end of last season but the Ghanaian hitman seems to have fallen in love with the Cameroonian captain.
Mbia traded European glories for fortunes in the Chinese league after starring for Seville in their UEFA Europa league winning campaigns.
Former club mate and now Lorient forward, Abdul Majeed Waris, however rubbished any fears of Stephanie fizzling out of the picture after his trip to the Asian continent.
Majeed eulogized his former teammate on his technical interpretation of the game alongside his workaholic nature whiles on the pitch.
“Stephanie is one of the toughest midfielders around with a strong winning mentality on the pitch.
He is such a hard working guy and always want his side to win on regular basis. He is a very good leader as well both on and off the pitch”, Majeed briefed sportscrusader.com.
On the departure of Stephanie Etounde Mbia from the spot light, the Lorient hitman was quick to point at his ex teammate’s unique qualities on the field of play.
“For me it doesn’t really matter where you play if you have the right mentality as a footballer.
You will always succeed with the right mentality and Mbia is not an exception to the rule.
Stephanie’s move to China will not change anything in his game as long as he keeps proving himself. It is not actually going to affect him in any way you look at it”, Waris rounded up.
Majeed traded Trabzon for French side Lorient midway through the current campaign and has since recorded an impressive 12 goals in as many matches across the season.
