Wa Rockets Midfielder Set Sight On National Call Up

Wa Rockets FC talented midfielder Iddrisu Nafiu, has set his sight firmly fixed on a call up to the National U-20 side, before the end of the current campaign.


The energetic midfielder remains confident of getting his debut national assignment, if he can maintain his current form in the second tier league.


The ambitious teen sensation, has drawn motivation from the past season that saw many second tier players getting invitations to the junior national teams, as he continues to excel for his zone I side.


Nafiu, a former player of Tamale based Utrecht is optimistic of introducing himself to the Ghanaian football fraternity after a monstrous start to the 2016 GN Bank division one league.


The Wa Rockets FC midfield sensation has been tipped by pundits and fans alike for greater heights in the game as he continues to ooze classy performances on weekly basis.


He told sports crusader, “For now I am looking at booking premier league football for Wa Rockets FC at the end of the season. It is our collective effort to give Wa All Stars a local rival for the start of the 2016/17 Premier league season in the country”.


On the individual level as a player, I am looking at introducing myself to the Ghanaian football fraternity with the national team.


“My personal target at the end of the season is to be recognized across the country with a call up to the U20 side before the season ends.


“I have always remained confident of wearing the national jersey and my current form is only going to brighten my chances.


“If other players from the Division one league could be given a national call up based on the performances then I think Nafiu is not an exception as well”, Iddrisu Nafeu concluded.


Known as ‘Yours’ on the local scene because of his unique passing accuracy, Iddrisu Nafiu has imposed himself on oppositions in the zone I second tier league in the opening six matches.
