He informed the clubs that, marketing their clubs would not only attract more football fans to patronise the local leagues but also boost their (clubs) values ahead of the start of the new season and following seasons.
Speaking on the topic ‘How to use the media and PR to attract fans to the stadium at the Alisa Hotel, Dr. Ofosu Asare, said it was important for club owners to use different media and PR techniques to achieve the task of attracting more football fans to patronise the local leagues.
“Currently, the media have become a very powerful tool so the clubs should create a media platform to communicate with their fans and implement techniques like selling tickets online to resist the stress of gate fee hustle,” Dr. Ofosu Asare explained.
“Without the media, the game cannot attain the publicity and excitement to lure more people to the stadium,” he added.
He also urged club officials to have a good relationship with the media to help promote their brand and gain much exposure.
