Ghanaian Volleyball Players Get Ready For Olympic Qualifiers

Both the female and male beach volley national teams of Ghana, are getting ready for their respective Olympic qualifiers scheduled to take place in the coming days.


The female national team are scheduled to be in Abuja from the April 19 -23, 2016 in the third and final stage of the qualification after a successful outing in the first and second round of the qualifiers for the Rio Games.


The male national team on the other hand are also due to participate in the upcoming beach volleyball Olympic qualifiers in Tunisia where they will be battling with some heavyweights in the sport to represent Africa in the Rio Olympics.


In an interview with sportscrusader.com, the President of the Volleyball Association of Ghana, Paul Atchoe said “the players are poised for the championships and they are vigorously preparing for the games”.


Mr. Atchoe also added that they will be taking a total of four players each for the respective tournaments and all players are in camp with the exception of Jonathan Sarpong who is playing professionally in Germany.


“The Ghana Olympic Committee has promised to provide us with tickets and other logistics that will help facilitate a smooth participation in the qualifiers,” he added.
