Deputy Communications director of Medeama SC, Patrick Akoto, has rubbished claims the club’s head coach, Tom Strand has held talks with beleaguered premier league rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
Kotoko has started the 2015/16 Ghana premier league poorly for the first time in fifteen years with just one win, two draws and two defeats in the opening five matches played.
Strand who guided the Tarkwa based club, Medeama to an FA cup victory over Kotoko has had a mixed start to the season but media reports has linked him to the job with the imminent sack of tough talking, coach David Duncan who has been under fire with the inconsistent display from his team.
But Akoto has called on the supporters of the mauve-and-yellow to rubbish the reports linking their manager wit a move away from the club.
He said, “Tom Strands absence from the team is due to sickness and this is what has fueled the talk of a move away but I will entreat all to treat the rumoured transfer as needless and unnecessary speculation.”
The Swedish coach is expected back in the dug-out when Medeama SC play agaisnt Bechem United.
