Liverpool Charged By Uefa

Uefa have charged Liverpool for illicit chanting at Old Trafford during this month’s Europa League tie against Manchester United.

The two Premier League teams share a heated rivalry and, despite chants about the Munich air disaster being heard, the Reds have been punished for an offensive song about the city of Manchester that was recorded in the report provided by Uefa’s match delegate Jean Paul Mievis.

As reported by The Times, Liverpool fans chanted that ‘Manchester is full of s**t during the second leg of their Round of 16 tie that took place on March 17th.

It is reported that the Reds are unlikely to be able to appeal against the ruling, as the chanting was clearly audible, but they may be able to challenge its moral legitimacy as songs about Hillsborough and Munich have prompted no response from Uefa.
