GPL Match Report: Berekum Chelsea Beat Medeama SC 1-0

Berekum Chelsea dropped Medeama SC dead in their 2015/16 Ghana Premier League outstanding league match played on Wednesday at the Golden City Park.

Nicholas Opoku’s 7th minute strike was enough to send Chelsea 3rd on the league log with 10 points.

Medeama SC started the game on the front foot looking to continue from their previous victory over Ebusua Dwarfs.

They were however undone by a brilliant Nicholas Opoku finish after Saddick Adams sent him a super ball from the right edge of the box. It was the first goal from a player in Berekum Chelsea other than Saddick Adams.

Evans Addotey, technical director who stepped up for the coaching responsibilities in the absence of Tom Strand pushed his boys on to draw level.

Malik Akowuah and Kwaku Donsu who orchestrated the Mauve and Yellows set up, bamboozled their way through Berekum Chelsea’s midfield led by Braimah Mohammed and Saddick Hadji, but the finishing was however palpable.

A rejuvenated Medeama returned for the second half like wounded lions, huffing and puffing to draw parity and probably win the game, but, the home side stood resolute and ended up winning the game.
