Joshua Clottey Endorses Issac Dogboe As The Future

Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) Welterweight champion, Joshua Clottey has expressed his admiration of young and upcoming boxer Issac Dogboe, saying he is the future of Ghana boxing.


Issac Dogboe successfully defended his World Boxing Association  (WBA) African featherweight title against Micheal Pappoe last month, exhibiting some real tenacity and maneuvering in the ring as he controlled the bout from start to finish.


In an interview with sportscrusader.com Clottey said;  “Ghanaians should not underestimate the talent of this boxer (Dogboe), people think he is partially Ghanaian so they don’t give him that respect, but nonetheless the guy is very good”.


The 38 year old boxer also emphasize the level of guidance Isaac Dogboe is getting from his father Paul,which has served a good psychological boost for the young boxer.


Clottey concluded: “Paul Dogboe being the trainer of his son is really a morale boosting therapy, and is good to have your father by your side to support you, especially when you are in the ring”.
