Player Profile: Ampem Darko"s Priscilla Adobea

In a country where ladies football is gradually taking the limelight for the right reasons, it is only natural that we acknowledge the personnel behind the rise in fortunes of Women football in Ghana.


The exploits of Adjoa Bayor and Memunatu Suleiman will take a lot to overcome but the sudden rise in stature of Ampem Darko’s Priscilla Adobea makes it a necessity for us to commend her.


Born in the Brong Ahafo region some seventeen years ago, little Priscilla confirmed her readiness to flex muscles with the established names in her formative years.

The talented teen sensation had her basic education at Saint Martins but had showed enough to switch her pendulum away from the classroom.


Further progress on her educational ladder only took her to Sunyani SHS for her second cycle education. The then commanding forward deservedly got her self that nationwide recognition with a call up the maidens camp.


Priscilla, however, feasted on the call up and made her name viral with monstrous performances that belittle a 17 year old lady taking on defenders. Need you any evidence to confirm her readiness for the global audience? She answered such critics with two solo goals in the Black Queens triumphant qualifiers against Tunisia.


The under rated centre forward however hijacked the media traffic in the opening matches of the 2016 National Women League when she scored goals for Ampem Darkoa at home to Subaya Ladies.


Little Priscilla followed up her feat with another 2 strikes on the road as Ampem Darkoa gunned down Ashtown in Kumasi.


With 8 goals in 2 matches, Luis Suarez is trending on BBC, CNN, ALJAZEERA, why can’t Priscilla take our media landscape by storm?


As she prepares to face Lepo ladies over the weekends, let’s together say bravo to the queen en route to stardom.


Combining her intelligent movement on the pitch to an eye for goal, the scary center forward may just be the new Adjoa Bayor in the making.
