League leaders Wa All Stars welcomes Techiman City FC to the Wa Sports Stadium on Sunday for a place in the last 16 of the MTN FA Cup.
The visiting team heads to the Upper West region under the inspiration of President ‘John’ Baba Mahama inspired by their fully deserved point at home to Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Techiman based premier league newbies resurrected from the death to oust regional neighbours Aduana Stars from a 0-2 deficit in the opening half of the last 32 ties.
Ghana’s much talked about football president Baba ‘John’ Mahama came off the bench to seal a place in the last 32, for Yussif Abubakari’s men with a goal and an assist to force the game into the lottery shootout which was eventually won by the Nana Ameyaw Park outfit.
Their FA Cup journey however looks set to end at the Wa Park, when they face an all conquering Wa All Stars side that has refused to succumb to any local rival just yet.
Enos Adepa Kwame’s men booked their place in their last 32 without kicking a ball after their opponents failed to turnout for the second hurdle in the coveted FA Cup.
The high flying host dispatched a well organized and much spirited Ebusua Dwarfs by a lone goal at the Wa Park to go three points clear at the top thanks to a screamer from star midfielder Atta Kofi Yeboah.
Wa All Stars have been boosted by the variety of scorers in their squad so far with six players finding the back of the net so far in the opening seven matches played.
