Manny Pacquiao seeks to end boxing a very glamorous career but he is eager to win,he goes face to face with Timothy Bradley Jr. for the third time in a 12-round welterweight fight on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Pacquiao, 37, could have opted to end his career after losing to Floyd Mayweather Jr. by decision in May in the richest fight in history.
“It is very important to get the win for my country and the people in the Philippines,” Pacquiao said at Wednesday’s final news conference.
“This is my last fight,” he said at the podium.
“My decision to quit in boxing is not about the money. It’s about my heart, my feeling, my family,” Pacquiao said. “I cannot say I’m going to come back. After this fight, I will decide. I will return to help my people. But right now, I can’t say what the feeling of being retired is … I’m not there yet.”
Pacquiao also reiterated that the fight will be the last of his brilliant career, which includes world titles in eight divisions, the most in boxing history. Few really believe it, and even Top Rank chairman Bob Arum has refused to promote the bout as Pacquiao’s last.
