The 31-year-old is currently sidelined with a knee ligament injury and is a major doubt to be fit for Germany’s Euro 2016 campaign.
Bastian Schweinsteiger will not play again for Manchester United this season, according to Louis van Gaal.
The 31-year-old has started only 21 games this season as his campaign has been disrupted by injury.

Schweinsteiger is currently sidelined after suffering knee ligament damage whilst training with Germany’s national team last month.
“I don’t think Schweinsteiger shall play this season. I think, next season, he is prepared,” said Van Gaal.
“Maybe he is prepared for the European Championship, I cannot predict. It is possible, but then that is also in our favour because then he is fit for the new competition.”
