Global telecommunications giant, Vodafone’s Ghana branch, has been named as title sponsor of the two-legged Unity Match 2016 slated for June 8 and 11 this year.
The event, powered by Ghana’s leading sports event organisers, Primeval media, is aimed at promoting peace before and after the November elections.
A statement from the Communications Directorate of Primeval Ghana said, the event will now be pre-fixed by the name of the communication giants; “2016 Vodafone Unity Match”.
Ghana goes to the polls in November and the Unity Match 2016 and the match is aimed at fostering an atmosphere of peace before, during and after, the elections by quelling the pockets of violence usually associated with political contests in the sub-region.
Having been appointed Peace Ambassador, former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, will lead a World XI side to play Kotoko and the Black Stars in Kumasi and Accra respectively.
Total communications solutions provider, Vodafone’s association with the Unity Match 2016, is an emphatic statement of its commitment to ensuring the relative peace currently being enjoyed in the country is preserved.
