Weightlifter Juliana Arkoh Quits Training for National Service

Ghanaian female weightlifting sensation, Juliana Arkoh has revealed that she has temporarily quit the sports, to focus on her national service.


According to the multiple medal winner, she has long been used by officials of the Ghana Weightlifting Federation and hence her decision to quit.


Arkoh, a graduate of the Accra Polytechnic in an interview disclosed that she is not going to participate in any competition this year.


She further revealed that although she has the privilege of skipping the service to continue with Sports, she won’t compromise her education for that.


Arkoh’s name shot to fame in Ghana when she won an impressive 8 medals at an African meet in Morocco in 2013.


She won medals in the Juniors, Youth and junior categories at the games.


Juliana Arkoh has also represented Ghana at the Youth Olympic Qualifiers in Tunisia and the Nanjing Youth Olympics in 2014 in China.
