Aduana Stars right back, Godfred Saka is adamant the Dormaa-based club are favorites to lift this year’s Ghana Premier League title dispite faltering in their opening league match against Inter Allies.
Godfred Saka, who until yesterday was the skipper of the side, led the team to the Tema sports stadium against Inter Allies on Match Week One of the new Ghana Premier League season, and they lost 2-0 to the Eleven is to One.
But the 27-year-old believes they have the quality to respond to the setback last weekend starting against Wa All Stars.
“Yes, we lost to Inter Allies but the results won’t affect us in any way,” Godfred Saka told sportscrusader.com
“It was a difficult game against a good side but we lost concentration and that was why they scored. We have worked hard and we will start winning matches.”the local Black Stars defender said.
Aduana Stars won the Ghana Premier league title in 2010 and they’ve been touted to repeat their 2010 achievement this year.
Despite last week’s loss, Godfred Saka insist the assertion that they are champions is still on course.
“Yes (we are favourites to win the league).”
