The British High commission, Ghana and the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have smoked the peace pipe after the High commissioner, H.E. Jon Benjamin paid a familiarization visit to the football association secretariat yesterday, as the two institutions make peace after each were in others throat late last year after the Brazil world cup 2014 fiasco.
The UK Ambassador held a closed-door meeting with the leadership of the GFA during the visit and also was ushered around the various departments of the Association.
Jon Benjamin a die-hard West ham united fan after the visit admitted it was worth it for the two institutions to put aside their differences and look forward to foster for unity and peace.
He said, “I thank the GFA for receiving me today and look forward to visiting other of the association’s facilities. We had an exchange before Christmas in 2015 which interested you (media) more than the two parties but we have discussed it and on both sides apologies have been exchanged and accepted in relation to the incidents.”
“We have drawn a drawn a line under the matter and we look forward to better things ahead,” he added.
