The 2016 University, Polytechnic, and Colleges (UPAC) Basketball Championship in Ghana saw games in Zone A take center stage at the University of Ghana Basketball court but heavy rains led to the final round games being cancelled and postponed to April first.
Zone A is yet to produce a winner who will qualify to the quarter finals of the games.
The preliminary rounds saw HO Polytechnic shockingly defeating GIMPA 19-15 while Pentecost University also defeated Ghana Technology University College (GTUC) 22-20.
The second round saw GIMPA, who were able to overcome their defeat to Ho Poly to secure a 30-24 score over GTUC who now have a slim chance of progressing to the finals,whilst Pentecost University who meant business were able to grab their second win on the day by beating Ho Poly 36-30.
The next round of the UPAC Games will be held in Tamale where University of Development Studies, Tamale Polytechnic, Wa Polytechnic and NJA College of Education compete in Zone B.
