Hearts Gnagne Captain Rules Out Complacency

Accra Hearts of Oak captain, Robin Gnagne has rebuffed suggestions that complacency cost his side to lose their clean sheet record against Bechem United in the match week four of the Ghana Premier League.

Hearts was one of the two teams remaining to concede a goal in the 2015/16 Ghana premier league season and the defensive shield of the team comprising of the captain and Richard Akrofi starting yet another game suggested the clean sheet will go on.

But when Bechem United striker, Abednego Tetteh hit the upright with his first shot at goal early in the game the Phobians knew, what was coming but failed to heed to the warning as John Nyamekye coolly dribbled pass left back, Kennedy Appiah and scored Bechem’s only goal of the game.

Gnagne during the post match interview refused to accept complacency caused them to concede their first goal of the season.

“We had taken a three goal lead but we were still focused on seeing the game through but a team like Bechem United were equally determined to score against us and their persistency paid off with that consolatory goal.” The Ivorian mentioned.

“It was not that we were relaxing and that caused us but it’s part of the game which was unfortunate for us,” he added.
